What makes a morning brief worth opening
TL;DRA good brief is short enough to read before your tea cools. We start from what needs a decision and leave out everything else.
Most summaries fail in the same way: they tell you everything that happened. A morning brief has a different job. It should answer one question: what do I need to do something about today?
Three rules we're working from
- Lead with decisions, not events.
- Give the detail you'd otherwise have to look up, like when to leave.
- If nothing needs you, say so and stop.
That last rule matters most. A quiet brief is a good day, and it should feel like one.
